If you're looking for something specific, our Handmade Search is unsurpassed. It is specially programmed to search only the major handmade venues such as Etsy, 1000Markets, ArtFire, ShopHandmade, and others in a targeted search that will return only the handmade item you're actually looking for, and not hundreds of pages of unrelated items. The results include a photo of the item so you can tell quickly if it's something you might be interested in. Clicking will take you directly to the artist's listing with complete description, additional photos and pricing information.
Our Handmade Wishlists let you keep track of your favorite items, from all of the major venues, in one place. You'll be able to organize them into categories that you create, share all or just specific categories with friends, and select handmade items for bridal registries or baby showers. Your lists remain private unless you choose to share them, and may be password protected for extra peace of mind.
Our Artisan Directory houses profiles of some of the best artists on the web. Search by name or browse categories such as Fine Art, Housewares, or Paper Goods. Artisan Spotlights are member created galleries that showcase handmade work in new and often unexpected ways. You're always welcome to view and comment on member's Spotlights, accessed by "Shopping", then "Spotlights" at the top of the page. Find an item worth further exploration? Simply click the photo to access the artist's listing with description, additional photos, and pricing information. If the mood strikes, join in the fun by creating your own Spotlights from any handmade items on any of the major venues. The best Spotlights may be picked up for display on sites and blogs across the web, thus sharing your creation with potentially thousands of admirers.
Window Shopping is a fun way to view handmade work... it's an ever changing gallery of handmade items randomly selected from member Spotlights. Simply click "Another" for a new set of handmade items. Clicking one of the photos will take you directly to the artist's listing for that item.
The Byhand.me forum is a great place to discuss issues related to handmade work, get or offer advice, or just chat with the artists. You're always welcome to join the discussion! Our chat room, located at the bottom of our front page, is always open for members who prefer a real time discussion.
Your free Byhand.me membership includes a personal blog space where you can share your thoughts and handmade finds with others. Reading other member's blogs is a great way to explore the interests or work in a more in depth way. Feeds are available so you can always stay updated on your favorites.
