Are you taking advantage of all the ways ByHand offers to promote your shops yet? We really try to make shop promotion simple and painless. Here are a few ways to promote using ByHand:
1.) Create a Spotlight of your products. They will show randomly in Window Shopping. You can also post both spotlight and window shopping to your blog or social network. (You can also now create spotlights using items from your wishlist! Additionally, spotlights no longer count your own views) Please read the Terms of Use regarding Spotlights if you have not already. This covers creating spotlights and posting spotlights to the front page.
2.) Write in your blog. Use the blog that you are given on ByHand. You can now customize your blog banner and sidebar! You can also automatically import your ByHand blog posts directly to your blogger/blogspot or wordpress blog in two simple clicks immediately after your blog is created. BlogCatalog.com will also approve a ByHand blog - they did mine - even though we're a social network. (Please read the Terms of Use as well as Site Help regarding posting blog posts to the front page. There is some important information there so that your post aren't removed from the front page. These rules are in place to keep ByHand attractive to buyers. )
3.) Be sure you have your shop listed in the Artisan Directory with your listing filled out as completely as possible.
4.) Participate in ByHand's contests. You can find details for the new contests and how to submit your items pinned in the Links and Opportunities forum. I also update with all items we've received for the contest there.
5.) Take advantage of the forums. That's what they're there for! List your sales and specials or ask for advice on promoting!
6.) Join a clubhouse and take advantage of the forum in your clubhouse to organize special clubhouse events, sales or giveaways.
7.) Fill out an interview and/or apply to be a featured artisan. Our featured artisan spot now rotates through the last five featured artists! (Application information is pinned in the Links and Opportunities forum.)
8. Are you taking advantage of all of your ByHand profile features? We've made a lot of enhancements over the past week to make your profile more attractive. Once filled out it gives visitors everything they need to know about you and your business. There are also now stats available for your profile and you can add your twitter and flickr feeds to your main profile page. Please keep in mind that your byhand link is

www - adding a
www is an incorrect format and will not work. (Take a look at my profile to see how a full profile looks.) Also, a reminder to double check the links in your artisan directory listings to be sure they work. Some members have inaccurate links that lead to errors.
Ways to support the community:
1.) Send your ByHand wishlists to friends and family.
2.) Visit Our Story > Promote! for banners you can put on your website or blog.
3.) Visit Our Story > Invite Folks to invite others you know to join ByHand.
4.) Create spotlights of other artists' work and showcase them on your blogs.
5.) Place a Project Wonderful ad on ByHand. All PW ad funds go back into purchasing ads to promote the ByHand community.
6.) Buy a spot in the services and supplies directory. All funds from this directory go towards placing non-PW buyer targeted ads.
7.) Become a fan of ByHand on Facebook.
