A Sons Story

Running to the table and enjoying the meal his momma had fixed for him. He could hardly wait to tell momma about the wonderful day he had spent with his father. As soon as she sat down to the table, he burst out into the story. What a day momma, we got in the Van and drove towards our favorite fishing spot, we stopped and Daddy got me some goodies, and some drinks for the day. The woman behind the counter had said boy you sure look happy today. I told her Daddy and I had a special day planned just the 2 of us, we where gonna spend the day fishing and just enjoying each other. She Replied sounds like a wonderful special day seems we don't get enough of those now a days.

We hoped back in and arrived at our fishing hole. Daddy got the fishing poles ready, and we got to tell some Great jokes, and just enjoy the morning. Before I knew it Mom I had a fish and Got it all the way to shore Daddy had to help me with the rest of the way he was the biggest fish ever! Daddy said how proud he was of me, and he hugged me so tight. Momma I could tell Daddy Was proud........Made me so Happy.
We decided to throw the fish back into the water so he could grow and have a happy life,On the way home We stopped for Ice Cream, and enjoyed the sun setting. Was so pretty to see the sky so many colors I could see Daddy taking in all the pretty colors. He looked over and said I am so glad to be able to spend this day with you son, there is nothing as special as this time we spend enjoying each other, and nature, and being able to share our day. I wouldn't trade it for the world........then we came home, Momma it was such a special day Did you enjoy your day he started to ask but noticed the tear in her eye, he looked around a little confused, it was breakfast time, and then took a deep breathe because he realized it was a dream, his daddy had passed a few weeks back..............he looked at the empty chair where daddy sat and got up and walked over to his momma and gave her hug, Momma do you think Daddy was talking to me in my Dreams, she said of course dear he sure did..........................

********************************************************************

This could be the future of Jacob If we don't all step in and try to help give his Daddy the help he needs, It only takes little bit from everyone to help.

48 for Larry
Larry Hamm over at Chelsea Lynn Designs on Artfire is a friend of many in the world of handmade, he is also the voice of The Crazy Train on Blockhead Radio. Larry has a fantastic wife Janet, and an 8 year old son Jacob who live with him in Lansing, NC deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Larry is a friend to everyone and just an all around swell guy. He is most definitely the “shirt off your back” kind of friend. Right now, all of Larry’s friends and Blockhead radio are teaming up to help him out in a tough time.

Larry is a disabled diabetic who currently has lost his health insurance. His medication alone monthly is over $2,000. Larry is not receiving disability, he has not been approved yet. His wife is the only source of income and she doesn’t make enough to cover his medications. Larry’s doctors have given him an outlook of only 18 months to live if he doesn’t receive a $17,000 gastric bypass surgery as soon as possible. Larry and his family need all the help from their family and friends they can get! Jacob and Janet need Larry to hang around here with them as long as he possibly can! All of his friends surely want Larry to stick around too!

All of us at Blockhead Radio are gearing up for the biggest Radiothon you’ll ever be a part of!
