Oh Wow! A Feature at IndieNorth!

featured on indienorth, a canadian collective

I'm SO honored to have been chosen by Beth at IndieNorth for one of her Spotlight Features.

I had only just discovered the site myself and it's so nice to see that someone with such a busy blog takes the time to check out commentors' work!

IndieNorth is a Collective/Directory/Blog for Canadian Artisans and it seems to be getting bigger and bigger.

There is even going to be a HUGE Gift Guide for teh Holidayswhich I am participating in and which I think all Canadian Artisans should deifnitely take advantage of. It's SUPER cheap at 5$ a slot and Beth will be doing her utmost to get the word out too! The Gift Guide FAQ is here and you can sign up for the remaining available slots here. Remember that you've got to be a Canadian-based artisan!

Thank you so much Beth!

I'd love to have more votes!

Hello everyone!

I recently became aware of Tim Adam's Etsy Worthy Contest and decided to give it a go...:)

This is the piece I submitted...I LOVE this necklace and I'm happy to be able to shot off this great close-up shot of it...:)

You can vote for Creme Brulee at this entry on Tim's blog.

You can see the other shots for this piece at my Etsy shop here.

If you're interested in seeing all the GORGEOUS entries, you can do that here.

Enjoy!

Gorgeous for the summer!

What I have for your viewing pleasure is a piece I just listed. I LOVE this piece...it's so simple and classic yet you can do a bazzilion and one things with it!

It was made using African Turquoise Jasper, Soapstone, wood, glass and some beautiful antique copper findings. The inspiration for this came form a pair of earrings of the same name that i made for a Giveaway a few months back. the winner liked them so much, I thought perhaps others might like to see something similar in necklace form...:)

Here's the link to Verdant up on Etsy

Despite it's simple lines, this piece actually took quite a while to make...almost 2 hours in fact. I had to measure everything just right or it would have appeared lop-sided and would have draped unevenly. I also wanted to make sure the piece was sturdily built without making it chunky so I was careful with the end wire-wraps for the beaded sections. It also took a while to just design the piece seeing as I wasn't sure originally how many beaded sections I wanted. I just knew I wanted the final results to be something that looked delicate and classic that could be used in many different ways. I like to think I succeeded!

Stay tuned for a couple more pieces and a few other tid-bids to start off my posting goals!

Wonder Wednesday in full swing!

Hello everyone, I hope this weekend is treating you well...:)

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE doing these interviews, giveaways and shop features?

When I first started them, I really didn't know I'd love doing them so much...:D

This week's Wonder Wednesday Featuree is the lovely and insanely talented Rachel of UniquePaperBoutique.

Her jewelry is what I love to call Wearable art. The process, the finished product, it's just such a unique and inventive take on relatively common materials!

She's generously giving away the gorgeous pendant shown below to a lucky commenter over at Gifted Designs' Blog. All you need to win is to have a blog that Blogger recognizes and follow the instructions. It's really easy and really fun to get to know your fellow vendors!

Come on over and support this amazing, upandcoming Etsian!

In other news, I was in this BEAUTIFUL treasury!

It never ceases to humble me when soemone likes my work enough to feature me in this way...:) Suza LOVES featuring her fellow Quebec artisans and many of these lovely artists are part of the EtsQ team...:)

So what's next? Well, Poster Child Sunday is tomorrow, though it'll be later at night seeing as I'm off to my Mom's for the weekend and she's got neither computer or internet access. I've got product shots to edit and then the matching products to list on Etsy so that's exciting!

Stay tuned! I'm working hard to reach my goal of listing one item a day!

Have a GREAT weekend, everyone!
