A little about me.  Well, first I am a mom of 3 boys all with in 4 years of each other.  My oldest is entering his teens.  Yes, I am a busy mom.....and as they get bigger, so does everything from their shoe size to their problems....But they are good-natured and in good health....I can't ask for much more than that!

My husband, Brian, is a smart, caring and hardworking man...and I can't ask for more than that either!

My educational and working background is in the social services field, but have not worked out of my home since my boys were born.  In the midst of raising them, farming, pulling calves, school parent groups and volunteering and moving from Alberta, Canada to British Columbia, Canada, I discovered beads....Well then it became an addiction.

I have been "beading" (which refers to anything I create with beads, gems, metals etc.) about 6 years ago.  Not sure if I'm  addicted to looking and buying beads or creating with them.  I combine beads, gemstones and metals of all kinds, to create my one of a kind jewelry.

I actually gave up beading while I I dealt with Breast Cancer in 2007.  Nothing seemed important but beating that disease.  Well, once I beat it...cross fingers...I realized I had to feed my addiction, again!

At that time I found Art Fire...and the door to a whole world of "Everything Handmade" was opened. That's How I got here, to By Hand, by Me. I am learning everyday.  I am not only inspired by the materials themselves, but by others who create handmade.  There is so much talent out there and I want to be part of it and earn the respect of my fellow artisans.

I love the idea of handmade.  I love to make handmade and I love to buy handmade!  It is a very personal thing.

Even though I can't see any of my new artisan friends in person, I feel like I have.  The world of selling and networking has become my second addiction...I am having a great time!  I hope you all enjoy my contribution to handmade - KIZZ DESIGNS.
