My name is Glenda Garbutt. I am 46 years old and married to my soulmate. Lucky me!  : )

Right now I am residing in Toronto, but have also had the great pleasure of living in Japan and Chicago. I have an MA in philosophy and an MA in Information Studies (which means I am a librarian). I love library work, but I am not doing that now. I am self-employed as a professional mentor. It's really interesting work, but there is not enough space here to fully explain it. Ask me about it some time if you would like to know more.

I have loved knitting for years and years. I have knit thousands of projects thus far the majority of which I gave away as gifts. Knitting has become a kind of personal legacy for me. How strange does that sound? Can I leave my mark on the world by knitting? I like the sound of it and I continue on this personal quest.

The main source of my inspiration for Wintergarden have been all the wonderful women in my life. The love and support I have received through out my life has made me who I am. My knitted jewelry are the physical manifestation of the love, support, mentoring and friendship I have received and continue to receive.

Since I have been truly blessed in my life, part of the proceeds received from Wintergarden sales is donated annually to "Shelter from the Storm" - Canada's largest campaign to end violence against women.
